Welcome to the premiere issue of Think magazine! We hope that you find the contents of this magazine encouraging, educational, and edifying. We are dedicated to producing a doctrinally sound, spiritually enriching magazine that Christians look forward to receiving. Since our firm stance is that God’s Holy Word is the only source of light to guide humankind through life in the midst of a world of darkness, we want nothing more than to be an aid—a help—a springboard into a careful study and examination of the Scriptures. Our hope is that this magazine will help to train our minds on that which is good—“Think on these things” (Philippians 4:8).
Each month this magazine will tackle current topics—topics with which Christians often struggle. The magazine will deal with “In-the-News” topics such as the stem cell debate, intelligent design, cloning, abortion, homosexuality, fertility practices, and other social issues. And while we desire to be an excellent educational resource for the brotherhood in a stand for Truth, we also hope to provide a spark of fire, a breath of fresh air, and a reminder for the reasons Christians should rejoice in hope of eternity. As such, there will also be regular departments that will deal with practical ways to build our own faith and then pass it on to the next generation, examine our practices as stewards of the abundant blessings God has showered upon us, and remind us of the reasons for the hope that should lie in each one of us. We are committed to publishing a magazine that, through a faithful application of both science and Scripture, convinces each of us that this is indeed, a great time in history to be identified as New Testament Christians.
One thing you might notice about this magazine is the look. From the outset we wanted to produce a magazine that would appeal to Christians and non-Christians alike. It is our hope that this magazine will find its way into doctors’ offices, coffee tables, and college dorm rooms all across the country and will be read by non-Christians. It is our prayer that Christians will be able to use this magazine as an evangelism tool, in helping to get truthful information into the hands of friends, co-workers, and family members. Consider it a magazine created for those who are seeking and want to be encouraged by the Truth. In regard to ‘getting the word out’ we certainly seek your help. Tell your friends about the magazine. Please consider this work as another tool in your arsenal of evangelism tools. We encourage elders to consider this magazine as food for the flock, and we encourage congregations to consider using the magazine in their local community as an evangelism outreach.
We believe you will find Think magazine holds fast to the ‘faith once for all delivered’ in the 1st century even as it discusses life and issues in the 21st century—all the while appealing to one’s senses because of its high quality. It is our sincere prayer that much good comes from it. As we look out into a world that is perishing, we recognize that now is the time to use all of our resources to spread the message of hope and salvation in Christ. We must act now so that life here on earth will be better for us and for our children and so that more souls will be ushered onto Heaven’s shore for all of eternity. We believe this will be accomplished to the degree that we, as ambassadors for Christ, encourage men and women to allow the word of Christ to dwell in them richly. Our fervent prayer is that this work combined with your efforts to help distribute it, will accomplish just that.
We hope you enjoy this issue, and we look forward to your comments.
